Gender and age differences in retirement anxiety among University of Nigeria, Nsukka, employees

Abstract

The study investigated gender and age differences in employees' retirement anxiety. The sample includes 450 (220 males and 230 females) employees of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, aged 25-65 years, with a mean age of 45 years. Analysis of variance (ANOV A) results showed that males had more retirement anxiety than females, also older workers reported more anxiety than younger workers. It was concluded that gender and age account for differences in retirement anxiety of university employees.
